After a great party ashore with canapes, open bar and a fabulous DJ, the fleet started deep in the bay of Porto Vecchio and after one General Recall, tacked out into open water. After starting both starts at the pin end, Skylark headed right and crossed the bay on port tack, picking up a 20 degree lift and an increase in wind pressure.
This wind shift catapulted her to the front of the fleet as it left Porto Vecchio. Once out in open water the wind subsided leaving the heavier Skylark with the challenge of keeping her advantage with the smaller lighter yachts.
With the event video cameraman and TV Presenter on board, Skylark sailed into increasing pressure under her giant blue asymmetric spinnaker and claimed another first place – her 5th in a row!
